Abstract

The crystal structure, oxygen nonstoichiometry, and electrical conductivity in PrBa1 – xCo2O6 – δ cobaltites with double perovskite structure are studied. It is shown that defective cobaltites within region of homogeneity 0 < х ≤ 0.1 have a tetragonal structure (space group P4/mmm) with parameters ap × аp × 2аp, where аp ~ 3.8 A. Coulometric titration is used to measure the content of oxygen in oxides over a wide range of temperatures and oxygen pressures in the gas phase, to calculate the concentrations of electronic defects, and to determine the limits of the thermodynamic stability of composition х = 0.1. It is established that increasing the concentration of cationic vacancies in the barium sublattice reduces the mobility of the hole charge carriers and contributes to a drop in the thermal expansion coefficient.
