Abstract

Incompressible enthalpy profiles are calculated from the thermal energy equation for a family of equilibrium (or similar) turbulent boundary layers subject to a prescribed pressure gradient parameter /3r or wall temperature gradient parameter <X.T» The wall and wake eddy conductivity constants are determined by a fit of calculated and measured constant pressure, constant wall temperature enthalpy profiles. It is shown that the Reynolds analogy parameter for heat transfer and the turbulent boundary layer enthalpy profiles are adequately described by the analysis when wall pressure and temperature gradients are nonzero.
