Abstract

The 20 constants of the Bender equation of state have been determined for ethane, propane, n-butane and n-pentan. The Bender equation with the constants presented here can accurately predict thermodynamic properties and phase equilibria for the four substances studied over a wide range of temperatures and densities. Comparisons with the Simonet-Behar and Starling equations of state are also presented. The Bender equation provides accurate property predictions for the design of cryogenic equipment and LNG processing plants.
