Abstract
We denote by Gn the group of the upper unitriangular matrices over Fq, the finite field with q = pt elements, and r(Gn) the number of conjugacy classes of Gn. In this paper, we obtain the value of r(Gn) modulo (q2 -1)(q -1). We prove the following equalities
