Abstract
The equal-time anticommutator of the BRST current is calculated to obtain the critical dimension D=26 in the case of bosonic string theory. There is no ambiguity in defining the BRST current and hence in calculating the equal-time anticommutator, in contrast to the case of the equal-time commutator of the energy-momentum tensor.
