Abstract
Objective and aim: The carbohydrate-binding protein Galectin-3 is increased in several inflammatory and fibrotic diseases and has recently been forwarded as a biomarker in these diseases. We aimed to define the role of serum galectin-3 in children with cystic fibrosis (CF) by comparison with healthy subjects and the relation of galectin-3 to the other inflammation markers.
