Abstract

The EPR zero-field splitting parameter D of the Mn2+ ion in Na2ZnCl4.3H2O has been studied theoretically. A comparison between the measured values and the data calculated using the previous model of the Mn2+ ion's environment in Na2ZnCl4.3H2O shows that this model seems to be unsuccessful for investigating the EPR parameter. A new model of the environment of Mn2+ has been proposed and appears to be reasonable.
