Abstract

Abstract The EPR spectrum of 109Ag2+ was investigated in a Ca(OD)2: 109Ag crystal which was irradiated with X rays. At a general orientation the most intense spectrum consists of 24 hyperfine doublets which collapse into 4 doublets along the hexagonal axis of the host. Some sets are connected thermally. g and A tensors were measured and interpreted using a model based on point charges statically deformed from cubic symmetry.
