Abstract

The properties of Pr/sub 0.7/Ba/sub 0.3/MnO/sub 3/ composition have been studied by means of magnetic and resistance measurements. According to X-ray CuK /spl alpha/ diffraction analysis, the sample was single-orthorhombic phase. The temperature dependence of resistance in the paramagnetic region followed the nearest neighbor hopping of the small polaron model. The value of activation energy obtained with the resistivity measurement was higher than that deduced from the temperature dependence of electron paramagnetic resonance line intensity.
