Abstract
AbstractEpoxy groups on isotactic polypropylene, to which 2,3‐epoxypropylmethacrylate was grafted, were reacted with low molecular carboxylic acids. The reaction proceeds under heterogeneous conditions in the presence of organic solvents and it may be catalysed by tertiary amines. The rate constants of this reaction are correlated with the dissociation constant of the bonded acid and with the character of the used catalyst. The reactivity of polymer‐bonded epoxy groups is not changed when comparing with reactions performed under homogeneous conditions.
