Abstract

Immobilization of molybdenum peroxide (abbreviated Mo-y) obtained from the reaction of molybdenum powder or molybdenum trioxide with hydrogen peroxide into a chelating polymer (Diaion CR-20) was carried out, and its use as a catalyst for the epoxidation of olefin with hydroperoxide was examined. The immobilized polymer obtained can be used repeatedly as an expoxidation catalyst; its activity remains at a constant high level after many repeated usages. The polymer also shows the possibility of regeneration by hydrogen peroxide treatment.
