Abstract

AbstractThe Linnaean name Laurus borbonia was lectotypified in 1966 on a 1731 Mark Catesby etching. However, as the taxonomic identity of the lectotype is ambiguous, and might relate to either Persea borbonia or P. palustris (and may even have been drawn from two different genera of Lauraceae), an epitype is designated here to maintain application of the name in its traditional sense.
