Abstract

Potentially useful second harmonic generating (SHG) K3Li2Nb5O15 (KLN) films have been prepared by liquid phase epitaxy. Ta-deficient and Ta-substituted KLN fiber crystals produced by micro-pulling down (μ-PD) technique were used for the first time as a substrate. The films were grown from the V2O5 based fluxes by conventional dipping technique without rotation. The film composition was measured by electron probe micro-analysis (EPMA). The incorporation of V5+ cations into the KLN structure is low.
