Abstract

This overview of epistemic violence discusses the related concepts of epistemological violence and epistemic injustice. While epistemic violence is concerned with the construction of the colonial Other, epistemological violence is identified in quantitative and scientific studies of any Other, and epistemic injustice provides reflections on the conditions for the possibility of harm and violence in the processes of knowledge-production and dissemination.
