Abstract

The epilogue rejoins the discussion of feminist humor and looks at how this golden age of comedy has paved the way for the queens of comedy to take center stage. It begins, however, with Rush Limbaugh receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom which serves as a reminder of his special relationship with the President of the United States. Like Limbaugh, Donald Trump has blatantly ignored humor’s golden rule but in so doing he set himself up as the straight man and a stooge for late night comedy shows like Saturday Night Live. Indeed, a full-frontal attack has upset business as usual, and bears witness to a rising tide of female comedians whose cross-gender impersonations challenge the president and all of his men. They serve as a reminder of the limitations placed on second wave feminists like Hillary Clinton but also hope that the pig’s reign as the king of comedy will someday come to an end.
