Abstract

In this epilogue, the three editors reflect together on one further question: what is the purpose of interreligious dialogue? It shows that none of the writers believes that his religious tradition contains in an adequately articulated way all the wisdom of God—there remain differences that are not insignificant. It concludes that by staying at the table of dialogue, Christians, Muslims, and Jews can continue to clarify their self-understandings, reduce misunderstandings of each other, and be a positive force for justice and peace in our troubled world. Serious interreligious dialogue remains a privileged vehicle for furthering strengthening this positive force.
