Abstract

Cannabis is one of the most commonly used drugs during pregnancy. The current prevalence of self-reported cannabis use in pregnant women ranges from 2% to 5% in most studies (1), but the number of pregnant women consuming cannabis could likely increase in the future because of the more permissive legislation regarding its recreational and medical use in many countries. In this context, there is an urgent need for evidence encompassing the implications of prenatal cannabis exposure for child mental health outcomes.
