Abstract

Dear Editor, It has been 1 year since the publication of “A Randomized Trial of Epidural Glucocorticoid Steroid Injections for Spinal Stenosis” [1]. Although this was a large scale clinical trial evaluating the use of epidural steroid injections (ESI) for spinal stenosis (SS), pain physicians argue the validity of the results based on the experimental setup and study design. In academic meetings and clinical discussion amongst pain specialists, some very much agree with the main study result: ESI are not very helpful for SS.
