Abstract

Hepatoma Research is an open access journal and focuses on all topics related to hepatoma. The following articles are especially welcome: pathogenesis, clinical examination and early diagnosis of hepatoma, complications of hepatoma, and their preventions and treatments, etc.

Introduction

The prevalence of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is increasing in parallel with the prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and obesity worldwide, in Western countries[1]. Some new practical guidelines for screening and surveillance of patients with metabolic diseases at risk for HCC are discussed.
