Abstract

Herpes zoster ophthalmicus (HZO) is more frequently seen in older and immunocompromised patients. Uncommon associated manifestations include external and internal ophthalmoplegia which are rarely symptomatic. The purpose of this study was to analyze the presentation and course of patients with acute onset symptomatic ophthalmoplegia secondary to HZO.
