Abstract

Introduction: Exertional Heat Illness (EHI) in sports has gained special attention in recent years due to concern of the potential impact of global warming on increased incidence of EHI and fatal heat strokes. This systematic review summarises reports of the incidence of EHI in organised-sports, to examine any trends in the EHI incidence over time, and to describe EHI incidence based on sporting activity, geographic location, and type of EHI.
