Abstract
Liver transplantation has a 1- and 5-year graft survival rate of 90% and 70%, respectively, that has been enabled by refinements in surgical technique and advances in immunosuppressive and preventive anti-infective therapy.1 However, bloodstream infections can limit posttransplant patient survival by culminating in multiorgan failure, septic shock, and death.2-5
