Abstract

Background and Aim: Infections account for 25-35% of hospitalized admissions in cirrhotic patients and are associated with a 4-fold increase in mortality. We aimed to study the spectrum, prevalence, and outcomes of bacterial and fungal infections along with microbiological sensitivity patterns of the infectious agents and the impact of therapy with empirical antibiotics on clinical outcomes.
