Abstract

This volume contains papers presenting the status of mathematical and statistical methods in use for the analysis and modelling of plant disease epidemics. Topics treated are: methods in multivariate analyses; ordination and classification; modelling of temporal and spatial aspects of air- and soilborne diseases; methods to analyze and describe competition among subpopulations (such as pathogen races), and their interaction with resistance genes of host plants; assemblage and use of models; and mathematical simulation of epidemics. New chapters on the modelling of the spreading of diseases in air and in soil are included in this second edition.
