Abstract
Freudenberg Sealing Technologies has developed an ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) material that eliminates fluid leaks in slow-moving aircraft, such as drones and cargo planes. In 2021, the company started manufacturing seals made from this material which, says the company, successfully addresses a significant challenge in the aerospace industry – hydraulic seal leakage at high altitudes and low temperatures. Here we look at the material's properties, the advantages it offers and how it is used.
