Abstract
Genetic information is increasingly relevant for disease prevention and risk management at the individual and population levels. Rapidly decreasing sequencing cost and increased throughput ability have paved the way for population-level genetic and genomic testing to support precision medicine and population health. Despite the accessibility of genetic information, challenges exist to scaling up these approaches, including engaging large multidisciplinary teams of researchers and clinicians, ensuring public understanding of genetic information, equitable access and participation in genetic screening, and sustainability of population genetic screening programs.
