Abstract

Symptomatic radiation pneumonitis (RP) is a critical dose-limiting factor for patients with lung cancer who received definitive radiotherapy. The individual sensitivity of the RP has been observed from numerous studies, which is often associated with baseline lung tissue condition. However, the identified biomarkers were various among different investigations. Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) plays a pivotal role in immunosuppression and has been proved to suppress inflammation in infectious and autoimmune pneumonia.
