Abstract

NUT carcinoma is a poorly differentiated squamous cancer characterized by the translocation of nuclear protein in testis gene that is mostly fused with bromodomain and extra-terminal family proteins. NUT carcinoma is a rare and aggressive cancer that tends to involve midline structures, frequently the head and neck (H&N) areas and thoracic (T) cavity. Several studies reported on a small mixed NUT samples from different sites. The characteristics and optimal management of thoracic NUT carcinoma (TNUT) are unclear.
