Eosinophilic Esophagitis in Adults

Abstract

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EE) has been considered a rare clinical entity, detailed only in case reports and small case series, particularly in the pediatric literature. Recently however, it has become more prevalent in adults presenting with dysphagia, chest pain, and quite frequently, a food-bolus obstruction in the esophagus. In this study, researchers described 26 adults with a confirmed histologic diagnosis of EE.
