Abstract
Summary Review of the records of 190 patients with congenital malformations of the heart disclosed that a high percentage of the patients with pulmonic stenosis, aortic stenosis, and coarctation of the aorta had eosinophilia. It is hypothesized that stress may play a part indirectly by increasing adrenaline production and that adrenaline may be a responsible factor in induction of eosinophilia. The hypothesis is highly speculative, but it is hoped that future studies will throw some light on this interesting and puzzling observation.
