Abstract
The accounts compiled during a voyage of Captains Alexandro Malaspina and Jose de Bustamente y Guerra of the Spanish Royal Navy to Port Jackson, Sydney Cove in 1793 are discussed. They describe the conditions of the Aboriginal people or the Eora in the 'Botany Bay' colony, their relationship with the English settlers there, and the real purpose of English settlement in Port Jackson.
