Abstract
Together with Opel the Delphi company developed an engine management system for vehicles with compressed natural gas, which can be integrated in a single controller. The system for Opel Astra and Opel Zafira has a big potential because it is unique in regard to developed functions for European on-board diagnostics (EOBD) and monitoring of the natural gas components. Because of the modular concept it can be extended for future applications like natural gas engines with boosting.
