Abstract

New multichannel biosensors for amperometric measurements are presented. Both transducer and enzyme membranes can be manufactured cost effectively by screen-printing processes. Solvent-free dispersion polymers are the basis for these membranes. The properties of this sensor type for the simultaneous measurement of glucose, sucrose and ascorbic acid are presented and the elimination of chemical interferences is outlined. The stability of these sensors is found to be sufficient for continuous use over a two month period. During this time, no changes in the response characteristic are observed. The linear range is determined to be 0.2–8 mM glucose in continuous analysis, extending up to 100 mM glucose in pulsed measurements. The application of these sensors for the analysis of different nutrients, e.g., fruit juices and blood serum, is reported.
