Abstract

Multi-functionalized graphene oxide has been synthesized through an isocyanide-based multi-component reaction started by aminated graphene oxide and utilized as a support for the stabilization of gold nanoparticles. This composite has been used as a multifunctional, efficient and recyclable heterogeneous catalyst for the oxidation of various primary and secondary aliphatic and aromatic alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes and ketones in water under mild conditions in good to excellent yields.
