Abstract
To evaluate the effects of (construction) products on the environment a standardized methodology called Environmental Life Cycle Analysis of Products (LCA), has been developed in the Netherlands. This methodology evaluates products in their specific function and during their entire life cycle. “Environment measures” are obtained, which are used for a large number of objectives, varying from product comparison, environmental management witfrin industries, product improvement and certification of construction products. Various LCA-studies of construction products have already been performed. Effects of recycling can be assessed fairly well.
