Abstract

AbstractThis chapter argues the distinction between environmental interpretation and education, which matters for conservation. More specifically, the chapter shows that environmental interpretation, rather than environmental education, is the more appropriate strategy for connecting ecotourism with conservation in protected areas. Also, it shows that in a public-use planning context, education can be explicitly tied to conservation.
