Abstract

Subject. This article discusses the issues of balanced development of regions, the Man-Environment system, and the introduction of environmental innovation in technological processes. Objectives. The article aims to analyze the adoption of environmental innovation in terms of realizing the demographic potential of the Arctic regions of Russia. Methods. For the study, we used a content analysis, statistical data qualitative and cause-and-effect analyses, grouping, and systematization. Results. Most regions of the Arctic show significant levels of environmental impact, including atmospheric air, surface water and land. There is a high disease incidence of the population in the Arctic areas. The proportion of companies implementing environmental innovation in technological processes is negligible. Conclusions. The article concludes that it is appropriate to accelerate the pace of environmental innovation in economic activity. This will help reduce pollution and have a positive impact on public health.
