Abstract

Abstract An apparently favourable climate has been growing in the last 12 months and is likely to help to create the conditions for an environmental tax reform in Italy. At the international level in the last year, we have witnessed: the Stern Review (October 2006) on the economics of climate change —a report commissioned by the UK Government and led by an orthodox economist of the Bank of England tradition, recognizing and analysing costs and risks of climate change, and which might represent a milestone in the attitude and comprehension by the community of economists;
