Abstract

The implementation of sustainability is a keys concept for many industries. The tourism industry is no exception. Geopark as a conservation area that pays attention to sustainability by utilizing tourism activities as the socio-economic development of the surrounding community still has obstacles in its implementation. The low level of public understanding about the importance of tourism development in the Geopark area is still an obstacle. By using qualitative descriptive analysis methods through literature studies, this study aims to analyze the condition of the community and the role of stakeholders in realizing sustainable tourism. The substantial actor of stakeholders is required as a forum for coordination and communication for the development of tourist areas. It is significant because it determines community participation in the management of Geopark tourism areas.
