Abstract
Abstract This article presents the results of a statewide sample survey measuring public knowledge of and attitudes toward environmental issues. Particular attention is given to the rural and coastal regions most directly concerned in environmental management. Multivariate nominal scale analysis is used to estimate relationships for independent variables including race, income, education, and urban or rural residence. Dependent variables include environmental evaluations, property attitudes, and land use preferences.
