Abstract

The environment of Al-Jibsa Marsh is a suitable environment for the growth and reproduction of types of fish, as (13) species of bony fish that have been identified, which belong to (6) fish families, the most important of which are the carp family and (Sparidae), the family of Bayah (Mugilidae), the family of the jerry and the family of (Bagridae) and (Mastacemblidae). Some of these species reside in the marsh environment, others are migratory, some are resident, and some are intruders in the marsh environment. The Concentrations of (7) heavy elements (lead, cadmium, copper, nickel, iron, zinc and aluminum) in tissues (5) were studied. Types of economic fish that are widely consumed in the region by the population, which are fish (carp, skeleton, shank, roughage, and hamri), in addition to the running fish, which were studied as one of the living evidence to determine the level of contamination of marsh waters with heavy elements and determine their suitability for eating, as the research concluded that the fish In the environment of Al-Jibsa Marsh, a large amount of heavy metals accumulate in its tissues that exceed the levels of concentrations in the water in which the fish live,,,,
