Environment Carrying Capacity Evaluation in Shaanxi Province

Abstract

Based on the current environmental situation in Shaanxi Province and the conception of Environmental Carrying Capacity(ECC), an evaluation index system of ECC in Shaanxi Province was established, including environmental pollutant-accommodating capacity (EPC), resource supply capacity (RSC) and man-made support capacity (MSC). In the meanwhile, the ECC in Shaanxi Province from 2001 to 2006 was evaluated through combining Analytic Hierarchy Process and State-space method. Thus the paper intends to provide theoretical basis for Shaanxi Province in making an effective environment protection strategy.
