Abstract
O argentino Eugenio Raúl Zaffaroni é juiz da Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos, professor emérito do Departamento de Direito Penal da Universidade Nacional de Buenos Aires e vice-presidente da Associação Internacional de Direito Penal. De 2003 a 2014, foi ministro da Suprema Corte Argentina. Zaffaroni é também um dos expoentes da criminologia crítica latino-americana, sendo Em busca das penas perdidas (publicado em 2010 pela Editora Revan) um de seus trabalhos mais renomados nessa área.
