Abstract
The main objectives of SHGs are to achieving rural development through performing entrepreneurship activities in India. SHGs play an important role in the social revolution and economic improvement for the prosperity of rural women. The present study is conducted to measure the empowerment of women and change in their living standards after joining the self-help group and their positive impact on the socioeconomic profile. The present study was conducted for self-help groups working under National Rural Livelihood Missions (NRLM) and Haryana State Rural Livelihood Missions (HSRLM) in the Bhiwani district of Haryana (India). The quantitative research study is based on primary data. In this study, various types of methods were used for the collection of data such as surveys, questionnaire, and personal interviews. The sample size of this study was 160 respondents from 40 self-help groups, which formed during 2013-2017. The purposive sampling technique was used for the selection of self-help group. The research data was statically analysed by using statistical tools, i.e., IBM SPSS 20.0 software and MS Excel. The result was concluded the entrepreneurship activities have played an important role in the development of rural women lifestyle as well as socio-economic status in society.
