Abstract

AbstractTaulbert finds that since the financial crisis of 2008, workplaces are faced with financial pressures and restraints, increased competitiveness, and “in some cases a lack of employee commitment and accountability.” Yet bottom‐line success still must be achieved, and how the leader articulates the vision and mission continues to matter. Leaders must embrace and model entrepreneurial thinking, and the “growth mind‐set” articulated by Stanford University's Dr. Carol Dweck. With this way of thinking, one's abilities are capable of continued growth and learning, not fixed and unchangeable. This mind‐set represents, he writes, “the path of opportunity and success.”
