Abstract
O presente trabalho teve por objetivo apresentar o panorama do Império proposto na obra de Antonio Negri. Para tanto, foram realizadas três subseções, as quais tentam contemplar o cerne e a progressão do conceito nos últimos vinte anos. Após realizar um apanhado geral concernente ao cenário contemporâneo imperial, objetivou-se trabalhar com maior especificidade seus entretons: sua forma de funcionamento como poder de polícia, a consolidação de um ambiente financeirizado e, por último, o sustentáculo imperial biopolítico.
