Abstract

The melting temperatures and enthalpies of such congruently melting compounds as LaSF (Tm = 1713 ± 7 K, ΔH = 45.7 ± 4.6 kJ/mol), CeSF (Tm = 1683 ± 7 K, ΔH = 40.7 ± 4.1 kJ/mol), PrSF (Tm = 1661 ± 7 K, ΔH = 39.7 ± 4.0 kJ/mol), NdSF (Tm = 1654 ± 7 K, ΔH = 40.2 ± 4.0 kJ/mol), and SmSF (Tm = 1587 ± 7 K, ΔH = 36.1 ± 3.6 kJ/mol) are determined via synchronous thermal analysis. The tetrad effect is evident in the change of the melting temperatures and enthalpies of LnSF compounds (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm) depending on r(Ln3+).
