Abstract

Enthalpies of dilution of aqueous Cr(ClO 4) 3 solutions at 298.15 K were measured in the presence of small but sufficient amounts of HClO 4 to suppress hydrolysis. Appropriate corrections were made for the thermal effects from the HClO 4 component, and values of the relative apparent molar enthalpy L φ were determined over the molality range 0 to 3.2 mol kg −1, with guidance from Debye-Hückel functions and analog electrolyte patterns at low molalities.
