Abstract
Over the last five to eight years a large number of businesses worldwide have implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems. ERP systems are a category of software that offer extensive support to manage business processes. They are application software that can be used in most kinds of businesses and organizations. Adoption and implementation of ERP systems involves risks and a large number of organizations have wasted millions of dollars as a result of failed implementations. Some of these failed implementations may be attributed to the selection of an ineffective ERP system. This paper applies Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to the process of selecting an ERP system.
