Abstract

Objective To investigate the pathological and magnetic resonance (MR) manifestations of enterogenous cyst(EC) in rare positions and to improve the diagnostic accuracy of this disease. Methods The clinical data of two cases of EC in rare positions confirmed by surgery and pathology were retrospectively analyzed. The MR features were analyzed according to related literatures. Results Among the two cases of EC in rare positions, the lesion located in the soft tissue behind coccyx, connected with the back of vertebral body and disconnected with spinal canal in 1 case and located in back mediastina, connected with the front of vertebral body and extended to spinal canal in another case. Plain MR scan showed that the lesion had low signal on T1WI and slightly hyperintense or high signal on T2WI. And contrast MR sowed that the capsule wall was circularly enhanced and the solid portion was enhanced. Conclusion The lesions of these 2 cases of EC in this paper located in the special parts of body and have special MR manifestations. These are helpful in diagnosing this disease in the future.
